Turn a classic Easter treat into your new favorite homemade hot chocolate, with help from your Ember Mug². Cadbury Creme Eggs are an annual indulgence known for their classic milk chocolate and gooey, sweet center. Melt them into milk, add a little extra cocoa powder, and you’ve got a decadent Easter hot chocolate idea that’s perfect for kids and kids-at-heart.

Obviously, those famous, foil-wrapped chocolate eggs are the key ingredient in this Cadbury hot chocolate recipe, so be sure to snag some or order them online before Easter. (Don’t worry about having extras – they make perfect fillers for Easter eggs and baskets). Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1-4 tsp sugar, to taste
  • 1 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-3 Cadbury Creme eggs, chopped (Start with 2 and add a third egg for a sweeter, rich flavor if desired)
  • Whipped cream for topping

Directions

  1. Heat milk in a medium saucepan over medium heat, being careful not to boil.
  2. Whisk in sugar.
  3. Whisk in cocoa powder, salt, vanilla, and chopped creme eggs.
  4. Continue to whisk all ingredients on low heat until the chocolate melts and everything is smooth.
  5. Pour into Ember Mug² set to 129°F.
  6. Top your Cadbury hot chocolate with whipped cream and garnish with an additional Cadbury egg, if desired.
