How to Make Dalgona Whipped Coffee

April 17, 2020

Degrees° of Ember is not a fashion blog, but when a coffee recipe is this in vogue we delight in covering the latest fashionable coffee trend.

Dalgona Coffee is capturing the hearts of coffee lovers and content creators alike. The whipped coffee is a creative muse thanks to the mesmerizing process and photo-worthy results that produce drool-eliciting viral content on both TikTok and Instagram.

While the traditional recipe is served cold, at Ember we like it warm, served at 132°F in our heated coffee mug. And, being currently mindful of the “quarantine 15” we adjusted our warm whipped coffee rendition to be dairy free and sugar free with delicious oat milk & monk fruit substitutes.

Drinking Temperature

Served at 132°F (56°C)

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee
  • 1 tablespoon monk fruit sweetener (sugar substitute)
  • 2 tablespoons hot water
  • ¾ cup oat milk (non dairy milk substitute)

Directions

  1. Heat oat milk and pour into your 10 oz Ember Mug² at 132°F. Set mug aside.
  2. In a medium bowl combine instant coffee, monk fruit sweetener, and hot water.
  3. Whip ingredients in bowl by hand or with an electric hand mixer. Continue mixing until the mixture turns from foamy to frothy to creamy and caramel colored. Note: With a mixer, this can take approximately 2-6 minutes; by hand, this can take up to 17 minutes.
  4. Spoon the thick, creamy mixture over the oat milk in your Ember Mug².
  5. Combine and serve.
