We’re unsure what makes us love floral lattes more – the sweet and summery flavors or the aesthetics. That sprinkle of flower petals makes any latte look more enticing, and floral flavors are a delicious way to level up your coffee or craft a caffeine-free latte. Whatever your tastes, find your go-to floral treat in one of these four floral latte recipes:
Hibiscus teas are tart and bright with a show-stopping color – perfect for a pretty floral latte. However, due to its high acidity, hibiscus tea often causes milk to curdle, so you’ll need to get creative to achieve the perfect latte. While we usually love loose-leaf teas, tea bags tend to work better for hibiscus lattes, as they’re often less acidic than loose-leaf. Opting for a blend over pure hibiscus will help cut down on acidity, as well. (Groundwork’s Hibiscus Sunrise Tea is one of our favorite floral teas.) Finally, go for whole milk or plant-based milk, as low-fat dairy will curdle the easiest.
Yes, you can have lavender coffee without the sugary syrups. Our lavender latte recipe is sugar-free and highlights that perfect balance of bold coffee and sweet florals. This recipe works well with other florals, too. Try subbing rosewater or rose petals in place of lavender!
* Be careful not to confuse lavender extract with lavender essential oil. You can use a food-grade essential oil for flavor, but the taste is very potent, and a single drop might be too much for a latte. Try adding a drop to a tablespoon of milk or cream (the high-fat content will help it dissolve and blend better into the drink). Then add a quarter teaspoon at a time to your latte until the desired flavor is reached.

Chamomile and lavender are both well-known for their calming effects and therapeutic aromas. We love using loose leaf versions for their stronger flavors and aromatics as well as the ritual of blending our own leaves. Adjust this caffeine-free blend to your tastes for a relaxing evening tea.
